Karakterisasi pengecoran connecting rod dengan penambahan unsur paduan titanium-boron (Ti-B)

Nowdays, motorcycles become a primary need for people, especially in Indonesia. This has resulted the increasing number of motorcycle spare parts waste. The waste is form components such as wheels, tires, drums, canvas, gear, chains and pistons many others. Until now, community not used this waste, use raw material casting connecting rods. Connecting rod itself component made aluminum. In study, authors wanted to analyze physical mechanical properties (imitation) rods from with addition Titanium Boron (Ti-B) elements. characterization results was analyzed by observing microstructure Vickers hardness test. showed that foundry contained 81.6% aluminum 13.09% silicon, while on observations magnification 100x, Al phase Al-Si alloys were more dominant. test, result 79.59 VHN. due Ti-B elements which can refine grains reduce porosity silicon (Al-Si) parts.
